On Thursday 8 July 2021, 12.30-1.30pm, we will be hosting a Big Conversation to look at ways of working with LGBTQIA+ people in the older community.
The event will be hosted by Nancy Clarke, Chair of the RCOT Specialist Section for Older People, and Karin Orman, RCOT Assistant Director of Professional Practice.
Registration
£FreeThe event will be made up of a ten-minute presentation from Nancy Clarke: Reflection on learning from a PhD. Nancy’s research is on the topic of working with LGBTQIA+ people. Followed by a discussion with attendees.
The aim of this event is to gain insight from conversations and to see what useful steps we can take from here to assist occupational therapists who work with LGBTQIA+ people in the older community. Following on from the Big Conversation, which will be recorded, Nancy and Karin will reflect on what has been discussed to look at appropriate next steps.
After registering, you will receive two questions to consider, helping you prepare your contribution to the conversation.
We look forward to welcoming you to the event, and we hope to create a useful tool to assist with working with this group of marginalised people.
