“The strength of the MOHOST lies in its ease of use, flexibility and application to many different client groups.”
- Sarah Wilson (Acute Mental Health)
This event aims to introduce the MOHOST to occupational therapists, irrespective of their level of knowledge of the Model of Human Occupation. There will be an emphasis on participation from delegates through discussion of case studies.MOHOST is a comprehensive MOHO assessment which is relatively quick and easy to use in many different clinical settings.
The Model of Human Occupation Screening Tool was developed with clinicians in the UK, in response to requests for a comprehensive MOHO assessment that would be relatively quick and simple to complete and use practical, commonly understood terms.
- The result is a therapist rated assessment that reinforces the unique perspective of occupational therapy by focussing on those skills that only become apparent when a person engages in occupation.
- It was designed to be used in those circumstances where service users have varying levels of skill; where self-assessments or lengthy interviews may not be appropriate, and where occupational therapists build up an understanding of their clients’ occupational functioning over a period of time.
- The assessment enables clinicians to capture this knowledge at regular intervals, assisting with treatment and discharge planning. (Visit the MOHO website for further information).
