Do I belong? How do we challenge the differences in BAME occupational therapy career progression
The Eastern region committee have been moved by the accounts of inequity and injustices experienced by practitioners and learners. We have decided to focus our bi-annual region-wide CPD event on creating a safe space to discuss.
We welcome Dr Anita Atwal, Associate Professor of Interprofessional Working - London South Bank University and members of the BAME OTUK affinity group to have an open and frank conversation surrounding career progression in the profession for members of the BAME communities.
From attending this session you will:
- Learn about how BAME AHPs can be marginalized when applying for certain roles
- Have the opportunity to reflect, acknowledged and feel empowered in a safe space
- Explore barriers and challenges to ‘Belonging’
- Network with members across the East of England
Join us so that we can raise our voices and create actions to bring changes within our spheres of control and influence. This CPD event is open to all members of the RCOT Eastern region.
