Promoting sporting activities to children and adults with disabilities
Occupational therapists who support people with disabilities within the community and are able to put this training into practice.
Why should you attend?
This is a unique development opportunity for any occupational therapist who want to support disabled people to be more active by taking part in sports.
What is the course structure?
The pre course and post course interactive learning will demonstrate:
- Why sport and physical activity is beneficial and appealing to everyone
- What sport means for people with disabilities
- How physical activity is inclusive
- How to overcome perceived barriers that prevent people with disabilities from participating in sporting activities
The practical and interactive workshop taking place on the 17 July will enable participants to:
- Learn about practical tools to support inclusive delivery
- Explore creative ways to support disabled people to take part in physical activity and sport
- Discover the local opportunities for participants, and further training opportunities.
