There is a vacancy on Council for a casual member to provide advice and expertise with regards to issues in Scotland. This person will also be required to be Chair or Vice Chair of the Scottish Board. The term of office is for one year and will end at the 2018 AGM.
The candidate must be a BAOT Professional Member in good standing who is working and/or resident in Scotland. Casual members are considered as Trustees/Company Directors with all the implications this entails and have the same voting rights as other Council members.
Council meets four times a year. The meeting dates for 2017-18 are:
Wednesday 25 October 2017 in London
- Tuesday 9 January 2018 in London
- Tuesday 10 April 2018 in London
- Belfast, the annual conference venue in 2018 around 11 to 13 June 2018
In addition, there is a Council induction on Tuesday 24 October 2017.
The Scottish Board meets three times in Scotland:
- Wednesday 8 November 2017
- Wednesday 28 February 2018
- Wednesday 16 May 2018.
Deadline for return of nominations: Monday 2 October 2017.
Council will hold an electronic ballot the following week to elect the new member.
NB: Any person considering this post should gain the support of their manager so that he/she is aware of the time away from work which the responsibility of holding a national office involves.
