The UK government has moved from the ‘containment’ to the ‘delay’ phase of its response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The latest advice is available here.
RCOT advises all members to adhere to the latest government and local policies regarding (COVID-19). The government has already issued guidance for health professionals and guidance for first responders and others in close contact with symptomatic people with potential COVID-19.
Members using medicine and medical devices should be aware that the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has asked industry to conduct a full risk assessment of the impact of the situation on their supply chains. In addition, as a precautionary measure designed to help ensure the uninterrupted supply of medicines and medical devices to patients in the UK, the Secretary of State has requested that suppliers who still retain some or all of their EU exit stockpiles should hold onto them while the department considers more targeted approaches.
