New Apprenticeship Standards are being developed for England which will replace the Apprenticeship Frameworks currently in use. Once in place, these new Standards set out the skills, knowledge and understanding a person must possess in order to carry out a specific role.
The proposed new standard for Advanced Clinical Practitioner has been developed by a number of NHS employers, St Christopher’s Hospice, Health Education England, the University of Birmingham and London Southbank University.
The draft version is now out for consultation.
The development of this standard seeks to underpin advanced practice across nursing and the Allied Health Professions. It has the potential to provide an opportunity for funded post-registration Continuing Professional Development (CPD) so it is important to ensure the content of the standard and degree level apprenticeship works for all professions.
