The Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) Publications Group is seeking a new public contributor to join them. The group provides a quality assurance role in reviewing draft documents and publications produced by us.
We want people to be at the heart of the work we do and to help us make informed decisions. As such, the Publications Group is made up of eight occupational therapists and two public contributors.
We use the term ‘public contributor’ to refer to members of the public who we work with. They have an interest in health and social care and may also have experience of accessing occupational therapy services. We are committed to working with them and their communities and valuing their experience and contribution.
Public contributors will:
- make sure that the views of people with lived experience, their families and carers, and their communities are considered when developing RCOT resources and publications;
- provide comment on the content, language and terminology used, and consider the accessibility and format of the information, so it is inclusive; and
- will be compensated for their time and reasonable expenses.
The commitment to the Publications Group is for three years. There are two meetings per year and preparation work in between.
