Emma Louise Marriott
The Challenge
As a new graduate I had to quickly learn how to be an Occupational Therapist and the lone Occupational therapist covering 2 community rehabilitation units meeting the physical, emotional and cognitive assessment needs of the patients.
The Change
Completing dynamic risk assessments in order to enact change in as controlled way as possible while still having the needs of the patient at the forefront the whole time while ensuring they have a voice to air their anxiety.
The Impact
Therapists are supported back into their usual roles with a better understanding of the challenges of community working. Patients are more supported with transparency and awareness of challenges they are facing.
