The Challenge
Karen* (43) had leukaemia. Despite overwhelming fatigue she was continuing to work but had stopped most social and leisure activities. She was tearful and anxious and despite sleeping well did not wake feeling refreshed
The Change
Completion of an activity diary indicated lower fatigue levels when Karen was looking forward to an event. We therefore introduced small enjoyable activities into Karen’s weekly routine. Karen also started daily relaxation practice
The Impact
Karen’s sleep has improved and she has more energy. She has started seeing friends again and noticed an improvement in her well being. Karen has spoken to work about her diagnosis and agreed energy conservation adjustments
