The Challenge
Family were reluctant to let Health Care professionals in to the home as they wanted to care for their family member themselves. We knew they were struggling with manual handling.
The Change
Acknowledged that they wanted to care for their family member but there were health care professionals there to support them in doing so.
The Impact
On changing the emphasis that we were there to support them they allowed OT in to assess - family were very appreciative and commented 'you were meant to visit as you've sorted so much out to help'. Following the visit, they allowed others in.
