The Challenge
Over 30% of the Request for Assistance received included sensory concerns. All of these requests had an initial conversation with a therapist which was time consuming for service users and staff.
The Change
A sensory signposting project was launched. All sensory requests for assistance were offered the opportunity to access the Kids Scotland website, attend a parent workshop or speak to an Occupational Therapist.
The Impact
Parents had quick access to sensory signposting information taking out the need to wait for an initial conversation. The service identified a reduction in time spent on initial conversations.
