The Challenge
Covid-19 has had a massive impact on both current and new students in our occupational therapy cohorts. The move to virtual learning with very little face to face contact has caused some social and academic anxiety and disengagement.
The Change
I recruited current students to help create a BSc social engagement Facebook group. Together, we have planned a range of posts and activities, promoting engagement and allowing the students to get to know each other despite local Covid restrictions.
The Impact
The Facebook group has grown and there has been an increase of posts and participation. Students who were not originally involved in the planning stages have made contact with myself in order to plan tasks promoting student wellbeing further.
