The Challenge
Michael had been informed that no further treatment options were available for him.He wanted some help with writing letters to his two teenage children. He also wanted to have discussions about his preferred place of care and death being at his home.
The Change
I assisted Michael to write letters to his son and daughter he documented family history and was able to express his feelings. He wrote a letter to his wife and a practical guide with household information . He discussed his wish to die at home.
The Impact
Being able to write the letters increased Michaels self esteem and sense of purpose. This helped him acknowledge and prepare for his approaching death. A few weeks later his wife contacted me ; he had died peacefully at home in his own bed.
