About this event
We stand in solidarity with all those affected by the recent developments across the UK - flags that have been used by some as symbols of intimidation, marches and protests where hate speech has been promoted, and incidents of racist and Islamophobic disturbances.
Reports of racist abuse and attacks are on the rise, not only within workplaces, where safety and support should be a given, but also outside of work in wider communities. The violence and threat of violence has had a profound impact on Muslims, migrants, asylum seekers, and people from Black, Asian and other minority ethnic backgrounds, leaving many feeling unsafe in their daily lives.
We warmly invite those directly and indirectly affected and allies to join us for a virtual equity, diversity and belonging (EDB) reflection session. This will be a space to come together, share experiences, listen to one another and reflect. The session will be chaired and facilitated by Savania China (Head of Inclusion and Involvement), Ketan Davé (EDB Lead), and Odeth Richardson (Chair of Council).
This will be a safe space to talk openly about these rising incidents, explore how to protect wellbeing both at work and beyond, and strengthen support for one another in these challenging times.
