RCOT Communities

Connect with our thriving community of over 36,000
We want you to benefit from the wealth of experience across our diverse membership. RCOT Communities, our online engagement platform, gives you that and more.
Our vision is to create inclusive communities where all members can find a place to share, learn and network based on their region, area of practice, career level or professional interest. We’ll do that through a series of practice, professional and regional networks.
RCOT Communities give you the opportunity to:
- explore an area of practice or professional issue
- connect and network with others across career levels and with diverse experiences
- share resources and access learning and development opportunities
- use your expertise to curate and create activities, opportunities and resources which support the development of the occupational therapy workforce and service provision in focused areas
- find opportunities to be advocates and leaders within areas of expertise and to represent the voice of occupational therapy at a strategic level.

Developed our new approach with members
Since summer 2023 we’ve been working closely with volunteers, members of Specialist Sections and regions and other members to help us review and develop our new approach to communities.
We took time to understand the strengths and benefits of our existing approach and identify ways we can better support members to meet their professional development needs and strengthen the profession and the impact we make.
All Specialist Section and regional volunteers were invited to take part in testing RCOT Communities.
We’re grateful to all those who participated in our review and helped us define and shape a new communities model that will serve us for years to come.
