Pre-registration education

Enhancing occupational therapy education
There are over 7,000 pre-registration learners studying across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. About 3,500 new learners begin their studies each year.
We're committed to ensuring our future occupational therapists have a positive introduction to the profession and those involved in both, their university and practice-based learning, feel supported to be the best they can be.
The Education team are dedicated to enhancing the quality of pre-registration education and early careers provision, ensuring the profession is equipped for the complexities of contemporary occupational therapy practice.
Through our Education Enhancement Service (EES), we provide ongoing support and accreditation against our Learning and Development standards, assuring the quality of pre-registration and supporting the development of pre-registration education and, by extension, the broader profession.
Our team of education experts drive the education and early career transition of the profession from a pre-registration perspective and within the broader health and care context.
These pages have resources for all those involved in supporting pre-registration education and for learners, our future occupational therapists.
