Information for education providers about RCOT programme accreditation

We work with all UK occupational therapy education providers to embed our Learning and development standards for pre-registration education.

Education Enhancement Service

Our Education Enhancement Service offers accreditation of pre-registration education programmes.  We are working with all providers of pre-registration occupational therapy education in the UK to ensure that our Learning and development standards for pre-registration education are applied through all stages of pre-registration education.

Our Education Enhancement Service supports the delivery of our Workforce Strategy. We maximise engagement with providers of pre-registration education, ensuring a high-quality education and introduction to the occupational therapy workforce. We deliver this through sustainable, data-driven decisions and ongoing investment in the future quality and growth of the profession.

The service is managed by Anna Clampin, Education Enhancement Manager. Anna and the wider team are experienced occupational therapists with extensive expertise in pre-registration education. This enables us to bring both professional insight and a compassionate approach to supporting and quality assuring occupational therapy programmes.

Education Enhancement Forum for Pre-registration Occupational Therapy

Our UK-wide forum is delivered through our Education Enhancement Service. Grounded in RCOT's Learning and development standards for pre-registration education: revised 2026, the forum supports excellence and continuous improvement in occupational therapy learning, teaching and assessment.

Bringing together educators from education providers across the UK that engage with the Education Enhancement Service, the forum creates a collaborative space to share knowledge, explore innovation, discuss emerging challenges, and engage with developments affecting occupational therapy education and workforce priorities.

Meeting every two months, the forum offers a range of interactive learning and discussion formats, including webinars, expert-led presentations, debates, case-based learning and myth-busting conversations. Topics will reflect areas of strategic importance to the profession and education sector, including sustainability, artificial intelligence, equality, diversity and inclusion, digital capability, simulation-based learning, and developments in policy, practice and regulation.

Open to occupational therapy educators working within RCOT-accredited pre-registration programmes, or programmes actively working towards RCOT accreditation, the forum supports professional dialogue, networking, scholarship and continuing professional development. Through shared learning and collaboration, participants can develop their practice and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of pre-registration occupational therapy education across the UK.
