About this event

Ahead of OT Week, which this year will have a focus of prevention and early intervention, join us to find out more about how to raise the profile of occupational therapy by influencing colleagues inside your own organisation, wherever you work or study.

Having a stand during OT Week is a great way to raise awareness, but there’s lots more you can do too. This session will give you confidence to talk about what you do to colleagues at all levels. We’ll help you think about the language to use when describing what you do, how to set up a meeting with senior leaders and give you a chance to hear from others who have done it.

We’ll discuss the different things to think about so that you can feel empowered to raise the profile of occupational therapy within your own organisation.

This session is part of a series of events introducing you to our profile-raising toolkit. There are five actions in total to help you understand and use different profile-raising techniques, including sharing your story, acting locally, being a media spokesperson, using social media, and influencing decision-makers.

Our speakers include:

  • Karin Orman, Director of Practice and Workforce
  • Thea Healy, Head of Profile and Campaigns
  • Samantha Bandak, Press and Media Lead
  • Other special guests TBC
