Research Café: NIHR AHP Research Leadership Opportunities.
About the event
What’s it about?
This session will provide information about research leadership opportunities offered by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) for AHPs. We will introduce the Developing Research Leader (DRL) and the Senior Research Leader (SRL) programmes. The session will cover eligibility, aims, and how each programme supports AHPs to grow as research leaders, embedding a sustainable research culture within their organisations.
Who is it for?
- AHPs from various health and social care backgrounds who aspire to grow as research leaders, are good at connecting with others, and who bring fresh ideas to drive a positive research culture.
- Individuals who are committed to leading and supporting others to embed research into health and care practice, and drive improvements in health and social care through research.
Learning Outcomes:
• Understand the structure, aims, and eligibility requirements of both DRL and SRL programmes.
• Recognise the expectations and commitment of the roles.
• Appreciate how involvement could enable you to lead research capacity and capability building initiatives in your organisation.
• Learn what support and funding are provided while on the programme.
• Identify whether these opportunities align with your career stage, leadership aspirations, and organisational priorities.
