About this event
Join us in Birmingham on Thursday, 11th March for our next in‑person RCOT Spotlight event.
At this Spotlight event, we'll explore how occupational therapy enables children and young people to participate, learn and thrive in mainstream schools. From universal approaches that benefit whole school communities to targeted support delivered in partnership, you'll examine the growing evidence for occupational therapy's contribution to inclusive mainstream education, gain practical strategies you can use straight away, and connect with colleagues working across education, health and care services.
Speaker details and full programme will follow shortly.
Starts 9:00. Finish time to be confirmed soon (expected late afternoon)
What you'll learn
By the end of the day you will:
- Understand how occupational therapy supports participation, belonging, learning and wellbeing in mainstream schools
- Explore effective school-based occupational therapy approaches, from whole-school strategies to targeted support
- Gain practical ideas and resources that you can apply immediately in your own setting
- Feel more confident articulating and advocating for the value and impact of occupational therapy in mainstream education.
Who it's for
All OTs who support children and young people in mainstream schools would benefit from attending. Bringing together occupational therapists who work across the UK will enhance the content of the day. The event will be of particular value to OTs who are or are considering working as part of new Experts at Hand teams, plus final-year learners interested in school-based OT practice.
