Supporting OTs to give oral evidence
Build confidence presenting oral evidence, responding under cross-examination and explaining clinical reasoning clearly at SENDIST Tribunals.
This practical one-day course supports occupational therapists to develop the confidence and skills required to present effective oral evidence at a SEND Tribunal hearing.
Designed as a follow-up to the SENDIST Tribunal Assessment and Report Writing Course, it focuses on translating a written expert report into clear, concise and defensible oral evidence.
Participants will explore the OT’s role as an expert witness, including preparation for hearings, presenting professional opinion, communicating effectively with the tribunal panel and maintaining professional boundaries.
The course also covers cross-examination, responding to challenge and disagreement, explaining clinical reasoning clearly and remaining calm and professionally credible under pressure.
It is suitable for OTs who have completed the Assessment and Report Writing Course or already have experience producing reports for EHCP assessments and SEND Tribunal proceedings
