Ways to stay involved:

You may be eligible to become a UNISON retired member. 

An RCOT member with at least two years' continuous membership immediately prior to retirement (who receives a pension and is not in other paid employment) can pay a £15 life membership fee.

We encourage members who have retired, are not in any paid employment as an occupational therapist and are not practising as an occupational therapist to come off the HCPC register. 

Remaining on the register implies you are currently in practice and fit to practice. If you still work occasionally or part-time, you will need to be registered. 

You can use the phrase ‘retired occupational therapist’ as it clearly indicates you are no longer on the HCPC register.
