Wrexham Occupational Therapy Team is excited to offer a full‑time opportunity for an Assistant Team Manager to join our well‑established, supportive, and innovative service. 

This is an excellent role for an experienced Occupational Therapist who is ready to take the next step in their leadership journey and help shape the future of our provision.

This dynamic position will enable you to further develop your management and professional leadership skills. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert advice on professional practice in line with the Royal College of Occupational Therapists’ Pillars of Practice
  • Ensuring the team operates effectively and safely to meet the needs of individuals in line with legislative responsibilities
  • Planning, allocating, and evaluating team workloads to support the efficient running of the service.
  • Offering high‑quality guidance, supervision, and support to staff
  • Developing effective, motivated teams and fostering strong working relationships with internal and external partners
  • Supporting and leading on service development and embracing opportunities to shape future ways of working
  • Deputising for the Team Manager when required

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist with a broad range of clinical knowledge and practice experience across diverse client groups. This may include older adults, people with physical or learning disabilities, paediatrics, hospital discharge pathways, moving and handling (including single‑handed care), and complex housing and adaptations.

You will thrive in this role if you are passionate about service development, committed to driving best practice, and motivated to lead change. Experience of supervising or coaching and mentoring qualified staff, managing complex caseloads, and demonstrating advanced communication skills is essential.

This role includes the chance to contribute to an exciting project funded by the Regional Integration Fund, focused on strengthening the social care offer within the Discharge to Assess pathways. You will play a key role in developing innovative, integrated approaches to early intervention and prevention, working closely with a range of teams and partners.

An Enhanced DBS check and HCPC registration are required for this role.
