Exciting new volunteer roles available

We have a variety of roles tailored to different interests and skills reflecting the needs of our new networks. We’re keen for the Network lead role to be held by one person, but all other lead and coordinator roles can be shared.

You don’t need to be an expert – just passionate ... I was nervous when applying for the role. I didn’t think I’d be good enough. But I was accepted and have been so well supported by the Communities Team at RCOT, I feel that my contributions are respected and appreciated.

Scott Gethings, Network Lead – Learning Disabilities

What if there isn't a role suitable for me?

This is the first step in developing our new community leadership programme, setting the foundation and shaping our networks. We’re working closely with volunteers and members to understand your evolving needs and, as we gain more insight, we'll create additional roles as and when required.

You can reach out to us at hello@rcot.co.uk if you'd like to discuss the role you could play.

Who can apply?

Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or new to the experience or profession, we welcome all RCOT members to join us. These initial network lead and coordinator roles will require a commitment of around 10-12 hours each month. We’ll be adding further roles in due course that will be suitable if you have less time available.

Becoming actively engaged in your professional body through a network role is a fantastic professional development opportunity. You’ll be able to actively shape your community, grow your skill set, influence key activities, build valuable connections with your peers and develop leadership skills that directly advance your profession.
