Nominate someone for the Casson lecture 2026
Do you know an amazing OT who could be the next speaker for the Casson Lecture 2026?
If you know someone who has done outstanding work in their area of expertise or perhaps has some fascinating insights into the profession, then we'd like you to put their name forward.

What is the Elizabeth Casson Lecture?
The lecture is a memorial to Dr Elizabeth Casson (1881-1954) in honour of her contributions to the occupational therapy profession.
The first woman to be awarded the degree of Doctor of Medicine of the University of Bristol in 1929, Dr Elizabeth Casson specialised in psychiatry and introduced occupational therapy to England, setting up the first school of occupational therapy, Dorset House, in Bristol.
We award an RCOT member whose peers consider them to have made and be making a significant contribution to developing our profession, to give the lecture.
This is why Thérèse Lebedis, Consultant AHP in Stroke, nominated Dr Charlie Chung to give the 2025 lecture.
‘He is a true leader in occupational therapy and rehabilitation combining his academic and research capability to provide both strategic and clinical expertise when delivering occupational therapy and stroke services.
Charlie is a constant in his support of the greater benefit to the occupational therapy profession and the people we serve and he would be hugely deserving of the honour to present the Casson lecture in 2025.’
