#OTalk relaunch: The power of connection

By: RCOT 03 September, 2025 News

After a two-year hiatus, #OTalk relaunches this September on the RCOT Communities platform – a space for occupational therapists to connect, reflect and grow together.

Our first session will take place from 8pm, Tuesday 30 September, with the platform acting as the perfect place to keep the discussion going long after.

With a 12-year history of fascinating OT-led discussion, OTalk remains independent and not owned or run by RCOT. We're excited they've chosen our platform as a safe and structured home for these conversations to continue.

To take part, you'll need to activate your RCOT account, go to RCOT Communities and join the #OTalk network.

To kick things off, we’re joined by two inspiring hosts:

Margaret Spencer

Margaret Spencer, RCOT Fellow and Consultant Occupational Therapy Practitioner

Margaret’s RCOT Fellowship is not just a personal achievement – it’s a celebration of every client, student, colleague, and connection made over 40 years.

Georgia Vine, activist and author of Occupational Therapy, Disability Activism, and Me

Georgia’s path, from pioneering virtual placements to publishing her book and pursuing a PhD, shows how shared experiences and mutual support can shape careers and challenge systems.

Margaret and Georgia's journey – from student and lecturer to collaborators and changemakers – embodies the power of professional connection.

Together, they’ll explore:

  • where and how we find support through our connections
  • the value of local and national connections and initiatives
  • how RCOT Communities and the connections we make can help us to build powerful, inclusive networks and create a strong professional identity.

Join us from 8pm, Tuesday 30 September on the RCOT Communities #OTalk network.
