New MSs have been sworn in and are putting in place staff and offices. We’ll cover all the major events of the last month and what they mean for occupational therapy.

Promoting occupational therapy to the new Welsh Government

Thank you to the nearly 350 OTs who signed our open letter to the Welsh Government.

The letter was important in demonstrating the strength of support for our Five steps to a healthier Wales. We’ve not received a response from the First Minister yet, but we'll update you in next month’s email.

Our CEO, Gary Waltham, has also written to the new Cabinet Minister for Health and Care, Mabon ap Gwynfor MS. Gary highlighted areas of alignment between the Welsh Government and us, and where we could look to work together on their manifesto commitments from the election and their plans for their first 100 days in government.
