Primary care evaluation
Primary care research project showing impact of occupational therapy in GP surgeries
We want to show that occupational therapists in primary care make a difference. We want to tell GPs, ministers, and funders how we improve patient care.
In collaboration with Rocket Science, RCOT has been working across three sites in England, Wales and Scotland to collect data about the impact of the profession in GP surgeries. Using a mixture of qualitative interviews with stakeholders, outcome measures and process data, we have carried out a deep dive into the difference we can make in primary care.
The results show positive change in primary care for patients, for other members of the primary care team and for OTs. To find out more, read the research summary and contact Genevieve Smyth with any questions.
