Accora is proud to partner with the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, working together to support the profession through shared commitments to prevention, early intervention, and high-quality care environments.
Since 2008, Accora has collaborated with carers, clinicians, and service users to understand the everyday challenges people face and develop practical solutions that promote comfort, independence, and wellbeing. Our work is shaped by clinical insight, evidence-informed design, and a belief that the right equipment can meaningfully change a person’s day-to-day life.
Through this partnership, we’re concentrating on the areas where our clinical insight can offer the most value to RCOT members. Prevention and early intervention, along with supporting independent practitioners, sit at the heart of that shared ambition and form the central strands of the resources and support we are developing together.
Supporting prevention and early intervention
Accora’s clinical team, including qualified occupational therapists and tissue viability nurses, contributes specialist expertise to resources, training, and discussions that help prevent escalation of needs and reduce pressure on health and social care services. Our seating and care equipment are developed with a focus on stability, postural support, and long-term user comfort, helping people stay independent for longer.
Working with independent practitioners
As part of this partnership, Accora will be contributing knowledge, tools, and materials aimed at supporting OTs in independent practice. This includes insights into equipment functionality, clinical considerations, and approaches to delivering high-quality, person-centred interventions.
Free education through the Accora Academy
The Accora Academy delivers accessible, CPD-certified learning for OTs across the UK. With more than 15,000 individuals trained in 2024 alone, the Academy offers webinars, on-demand sessions, and practical resources created to complement professional development at every stage of practice. All training is free to access and designed to support both clinical confidence and informed decision-making.
