R2219 - SENDIST Tribunal, Assessment and Report Writing for Occupational Therapists
£110
This practical one-day course supports occupational therapists to develop confidence and competence in SEND tribunal assessment and report writing. The course focuses on producing legally robust, evidence-based occupational therapy assessments and recommendations linked clearly to educational participation and provision within the EHCP process.
Participants will explore the occupational therapist’s role in EHCP assessment, functional analysis, educational observations, clinical reasoning, and interpretation of assessment findings within educational contexts. The course also examines common weaknesses in occupational therapy reports and provides guidance on writing clear, quantified and legally specific recommendations suitable for tribunal-standard documentation.
Through case examples, practical exercises and report critique activities, participants will strengthen their ability to produce reports that are clinically sound, educationally relevant and defensible within SEND processes.
The course is suitable for occupational therapists working in paediatrics, schools, independent practice, or services contributing to EHCP assessments and SEND tribunal work.
