Your top 10 e-books of 2025

By: Alice Ford-Smith – Librarian 15 December, 2025 Blog

What did our members take off the digital shelves this year?

Our Digital Library is home to books, journals and databases to support your CPD and studies throughout your career.

The 10 books below shine a light on the themes shaping occupational therapy right now – offering practical tools, clear frameworks and insight you can apply straight away. Delightfully, number one was co-written by our 2026 Elizabeth Casson Memorial Lecturer.

Every book on the list is available to borrow with your RCOT membership. Use it as a springboard for your own learning or spark a discussion in your team or on RCOT Communities.

Our e-books do have a limited number of licenses, so you may need to wait for another member to finish reading a book before you can access it. If there’s a title you’re waiting for, use your CPD portfolio to create a ‘To read’ list, and add your reflections later.

A Guide to the Formulation of Plans and Goals in Occupational Therapy

Sue Parkinson and Rob Brooks (2021)

Rob Brooks and I are thrilled that our book was RCOT's most borrowed e-book this year. We worked hard to make it a good read, and as part of next year's Elizabeth Casson Memorial Lecture I'll be reflecting on the book's success, and how it captured the imagination of the occupational therapy profession.
