Are you an occupational therapist working with children and young people? We’re calling for your input on the first edition of the practice guideline Occupational therapy and play.
We’ve developed a draft of the first edition of Occupational Therapy and Play and we’d now like to get feedback from members. We want to hear your comments on the recommendations and the guideline document itself. We’re running this consultation to help make the guideline as useful and accessible as possible for OTs working with children and young people.
Our guideline development group, made up of members, public contributors and stakeholder representatives, has been reviewing research evidence relevant to occupational therapy and play. The guideline has been developed in line with our National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) accredited process. We hope to publish the guideline in summer 2023.
Dr Tanya Rihtman, chair of the guideline development group, said, ‘This guideline was developed with the primary purpose of informing and enhancing the day-to-day clinical practice of paediatric occupational therapists. We value comments from occupational therapists to ensure the guideline is relevant, useful and practical.’
Please get involved by downloading the guideline and supplement, and completing this feedback form by 5pm on Monday 7 November 2022.
If you have any questions or any accessibility requirements, please contact Angie Thompson, RCOT Research and Development Officer: angie.thompson@rcot.co.uk or +44 (0)20 3141 4615.
We’re also interested in the views of other stakeholders and parents. If you’re not an OT but would like to provide some feedback too, contact Angie Thompson.
