Health Education England (HEE) launched today its new joint research strategy for Allied Health Professions (AHPs). Directly addressing the need for relevant and appropriately different support opportunities to be available to all AHPs, whatever their discipline, professional association membership, or employment context.
Alongside 14 other Allied Health professional associations and the Council for Allied Health Professions Research, RCOT contributed to the development of the strategy.
The Allied Health Professions’ Research and Innovation Strategy for England is a definitive statement that supports the research and innovation agenda for all the Allied Health Professions and compliments the research strategies of each of the professional associations. The HEE strategy addresses the four key areas which impact research and innovation across all health professions: Capacity, Capability, Context, and Culture, and looks to support transformational change across the sector.
“We are delighted to support the HEE Allied Health Professions’ Research and Innovation Strategy for England. It is very much aligned with the RCOT Research and Development Strategy 2019-24. We anticipate that galvanising the weight and influence of the 14 AHPs will contribute further to the cultural change we wish to achieve in our own profession, with the beneficial effects ultimately spanning all four home nations of the UK, rather than being limited by geographical borders".
