Children thrive when they get the right support at the right time

Children thrive when they get the right support at the right time, in the places they learn and live. That’s at the heart of our Right Support, Right Time campaign – and it’s reflected in the ambition set out in the UK Government’s ‘Every Child Achieving and Thriving’ Schools White Paper.

Find out how you can help

Ahead of upcoming national and local elections across the UK, we’re strengthening our case for occupational therapy in schools – and your insight is essential.

We want to hear about your real experiences.

  • What’s working well?
  • Where are the challenges?
  • What needs to change to make early, inclusive support a reality for every child?

Share your insight to shape national policy

We’re gathering insight from occupational therapists in England to inform our response to the Government’s SEND Reform: Putting Children and Young People First consultation. This is an important opportunity to make sure the real experiences of occupational therapists working with children and young people with SEND are reflected in national policy.

Complete this form to share your experience and strengthen our response

Through this form, you can share what’s working well, where the challenges are, and what needs to change to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families.

Your responses will directly inform RCOT’s consultation response and help ensure the voice of the profession is clearly represented. You don’t need to answer every question, and bullet-point responses are welcome.

Please share your views by Tuesday 12 May 2026 to help us submit a response that reflects our views and concerns. Your experiences will help ensure occupational therapy is recognised and embedded in future plans for schools.
