In January 2022, we held a series of community discussion events to collect your views on the proposed additional pre-registration doctoral level route. We listened to those you shared online too.
Your views were wide and varied and from these, eight themes have emerged:

After carefully considering the different views and findings from our community discussion events, we’ve decided to support the addition of a pre-registration doctoral level entry route into the occupational therapy profession in the UK.
The eight themes will give us focus as we work with education providers, employers and workforce leads, people accessing occupational therapy services and people with lived experience of diversity to establish this additional route.
To support this, we’re hosting a series of events for ongoing community dialogue.
In these sessions, you’ll be able to explore these themes and help identify the immediate and ongoing actions.
