In this networking event, we would like to explore the OT role in the context of our varied and wide-ranging specialist areas within child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS). Do you work in an inpatient setting? In fostering or adoption services? In eating disorder services? Maybe in a generic CAMHS community team? Or do you specialise or have an interest in a specific area, such as ARFID, Neurodiversity, or trauma informed care? Perhaps you are in a generic role, or dual-trained in another therapeutic modality, and seeking ways to maintain your identity and clinical practice as an occupational therapist?
We want to hear from you about the diverse areas of practice that you are currently working in, and hope to make many links and connections with others in similar areas of practice or with shared specialist knowledge. We also welcome those who are interested in building their career in a CAMHS service, and keen to explore the various opportunities within CAMHS.
Time will be given to structured discussions to share best practice, learning, policy and clinical updates, resources, and problems/solutions, with those who have a shared interest. We also hope this time would help explore opportunities to continue to build networks, conversations, develop ideas, and shared learning beyond the event. If you are already part of a network of CAMHS OT, then do invite your network too!
