We’re working on improving our website and member portal and would love your support. Starting today and running until the beginning of March, you may notice some prompts appearing on our website inviting you to take part in a card sorting exercise.
Card sorting, a user experience research method, involves participants categorising and organising information into groups, providing valuable insights into how users perceive and prioritise content. This exercise is designed to help us refine website navigation, making it more intuitive and user-friendly.
Card sorting involves participants from various backgrounds and roles to categorise information relevant to their interests. This collaborative process is anticipated to uncover patterns and preferences, guiding enhancements to the website's structure.
What are the benefits for our website users?
-
Tailored content – the exercise is structured to prioritise the needs and preferences of different user groups, making sure the content aligns with your expectations.
-
Improved navigation – we’ll use insights gained to inform changes to the website's navigation, making it more streamlined and efficient.
-
Enhanced user engagement – we’re involving users with the aim of creating a more engaging and personalised online experience.
How can you take part in this research?
When visiting our website you may see prompts inviting you to take part in the test. Participants will be presented with a list of cards and asked to drag and drop them into the categories they believe are most fitting. It's important to remember that this is not a test of your ability – there are no right or wrong answers, only what seems intuitive. This should take no more than 10–15 minutes to complete.
Ensuring privacy and confidentiality
All responses will be strictly anonymous. The collected data will be handled confidentially, in compliance with relevant regulations.
The card sorting exercise is live now. Help us to improve the RCOT website and take part today! And watch out for more opportunities to support how we improve our website over the coming months.
