Did you know that you can influence the profession and develop your leadership skills by becoming a member of our Boards. In 2023 we have ten positions vacant across five RCOT Boards.
If you’re someone from or with knowledge in an area listed below, we’d love your input. We value the diversity of our membership, and strongly encourage applications from all sections of our community, especially those from under-represented groups.
- RCOT Board: Scotland – Three vacancies within acute settings and rural areas of Scotland.
- RCOT Board: England – Two vacancies within the area of mental health, in Northwest or Southeast England.
- RCOT Board: Wales – One vacancy within the areas of social care or children’s practice.
- RCOT Board: Learning & Development – Two vacancies within the areas of practice-based leadership, curriculum design and practice-based learning.
- RCOT Board: Research & Development – Two vacancies. Applications are especially welcome from Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, or those with an interest in Patient and Public involvement in research.
What's involved?
- The position is for three years.
- Meetings take place three times a year – virtually or in-person.
On the Country Boards, you’ll need to:
- think strategically
- be politically aware
- contribute actively to debate and inform professional developments.
On the Learning & Development Board, you’ll:
- consider and advise on policy that affects pre and post-registration occupational therapists
- identify learning and development matters that could impact the profession
- support and promote learning and development campaigns.
On the Research & Development Board, you’ll:
- support the delivery of our Research and Development Strategy
- encourage OTs to find, develop and recruit to new research career pathways
- help to identify gaps in research evidence and potential funding.
