Occupations therapists will star alongside other allied health professions (AHPs) in a live broadcast to inspire the next generation of AHPs.
Launched by Health Education England (HEE) alongside NHS Health Careers and The WOW show, the programme takes place on 26 June at 10amn and includes a segment on occupational therapy.
The WOW show is a fast-moving interactive online magazine which showcases the full range of AHP professions including occupational therapy. It will be watched live by hundreds of schoolchildren up and down the country and be available on demand for use in schools and at home immediately after the show airs. The show also has resources and lessons plans to support teachers and careers advisors.
Two previous shows which have also featured occupational therapists in a learning disability setting have been the most watched Wow Shows on-demand videos and are still being viewed regularly.
To support the supply of the next-generation AHP workforce, HEE are also working with Inspiring the Future where occupational therapists can sign up as an NHS ambassador. They are asking people to offer a small amount of your time to talk to local schools and colleges about AHP careers.
