We are delighted to confirm that Dr Patricia McClure has been elected as chair of our council for a further period of 12 months.
Following the announcement of the vote, Dr McClure, who is also Associate Head of School, School of Health Sciences at Ulster University said: "I am delighted and honoured to have been re-elected as your Chair of Council. Our recent change of status to the Royal College of Occupational Therapists by Her Majesty the Queen is wonderful recognition of the esteem in which our profession is held and the value of the work we all do as occupational therapists to improve people’s lives. I will continue to lead Council and work with the officers to further promote our great profession and assure the sound governance of the organisation. Thank you to all those who voted for me. Your support is much appreciated.”
The Chairman of Council represents the occupational therapy profession. It is a demanding and interesting role involving many and varied duties. Council is the policy-making forum and governing body for the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organisation.
