The Challenge
Passing on experience in assessment and treatment of patients with complex needs in a physical setting. I saw the patient contact as a calling, and struggled to see value in the ‘management stuff’
The Change
Realised that I could serve a patient well myself, but there are many OT staff in the wider team and the value added was different depending on experience. I realised I can improve the service for more patients by teaching others
The Impact
I like to think staff feel more confident in their knowledge, interventions and team work. The result is an improved and more equitable service for people.
