The Challenge
I had a start date for my new job during COVID-19, however due to shielding I was not able to start within the clinical setting straight away. Another staff member who was also currently shielding and working from home was able to induct me.
The Change
Virtual technology was used for my induction, meeting the team, online training, beginning my PADR, learning about the service and the team structure.
The Impact
Being supervised from another staff member enabled me to feel more confident and less anxious when I had a start date within the clinical setting, as I felt like I had an understanding of how the service ran and I was familiar with team members.
