The Challenge
COVID19 has created many barriers surrounding effective communication and the use of PPE.
This creates difficulty in adopting a client centred approach to OT assessment and interventions. PPE can be daunting and cause distress.
The Change
The OT Learning Disability Team created photo name badges which can be worn when visiting clients and their families.
The Impact
Clients are able to ‘see’ who we are and still be greeted with a smiling face. This helps to develop effective therapeutic relationships which in turn will help to further provide high quality care.
