Are you looking for funding to support your career development? The applications for the 2022 Annual Awards are now open.

The RCOT Annual Awards support funding for learning, development and research activities, and offer the opportunity to add to your portfolio in one or more of the four Pillars of Practice in the Career Development Framework (RCOT 2021).

For the 2022 awards we are encouraging applicants to think creatively and take into account new ways of working and how people are adapting their learning, practice and research in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The deadline for receipt of applications by RCOT is 5pm on Friday 29 October 2021.
All applications must be submitted only via email to AnnualAwards@rcot.co.uk
All applicants will be notified of the outcome in January 2022.

AMPS-ESI UK & Ireland Award - One award of £1,000

Support towards a practice development/evaluation project or research activity in a topic relevant to occupational therapy which also demonstrates the use of the AMPS, School AMPS, ESI or OTIPM. Open to professional and student members.

The Constance Owens Liverpool Award for Service Development - Two awards of £1,000

To support an individual professional member participating in a service development activity or project likely to have an impact on outcomes for service users/carers, occupational therapy service effectiveness, and professional practice.

Innovation Award - One award of £2,000

To support an innovative or developmental project activity likely to have an impact on service users and the profession. Open to all members.

Institute of Social Psychiatry Award -One award of £2,000

Provides support for an individual occupational therapist towards a research or developmental project/activity in a topic relevant to occupational therapy and mental health, which also demonstrates relevance to social psychiatry. The award can be used to support formal post graduate research activities and education.

The Barbara Tyldesley Student Award - Two awards of £500 each

To support UK pre-registration student member’s participation in an approved overseas practice placement; Erasmus Exchange Scheme; or global health project. Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, this may include virtual/online participation in an overseas project.

RCOT Student Award for Entrepreneurship and Leadership - One award of £500

To provide support towards a pre-registration student entrepreneurial or leadership activity with a focus on the relevance of the activity to the development of occupational therapy and benefit to people who access occupational therapy services/carers.

Pearson Award - One award of £750

To provide support for an individual occupational therapist or student member towards an activity that forms part of their education, research or continuing professional development.

The Constance Owens Early Researcher Award - One award of £5,000

To enable an individual professional member to begin to participate in research, through pilot or preliminary research activity relevant to occupational therapy in statutory and non-statutory sectors and the activity/project must be linked to practice.

International Activity Award - Two awards of £750 each

Provides support towards an individual member’s active participation in an overseas activity. Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, this may include virtual/online participation.

The Tunstall Award for Technology Innovation in Occupational Therapy – One award of £1,500

To support the innovative use of existing digital technology to support individuals, communities or occupational therapy service delivery in a real world setting.
