This informative webinar is for occupational therapists working within a variety of settings who are looking to change or improve services. The background to the QIP, the processes which were used, guided by the Model for Improvement and Plan, Do, Study and Act cycles will be discussed along with the results, strengths, and limitations of the QIP.
Helen Bowker is an occupational therapist (OT) and trainee advance clinical practitioner (tACP). As part of the tACP masters Helen designed a quality improvement project (QIP) to introduce a fatigue screening tool in an oncology multidisciplinary (MDT) outpatient team. The primary aim of the QIP was to ensure all the clinicians within the team could provide basic fatigue management advice to patients and carers and know when to refer to the OT for specialist targeted interventions.
The Learning Outcomes for this session are:
1. The importance of educating MDT clinicians about CRF
2. Benefits, strengths, and limitations of this QIP
3. Share best practice and disseminate the results to showcase the OT profession.
