This event is free for all RCOT members, and a recording will be available after the event.
Is your clinical practice embracing the fact that OTs working in the NHS are authorised to complete Fit Notes?
Do you as NHS managers need to learn from other OT Managers who have a staff group who write Fit Notes everyday?
Can you protect one lunchtime to join the event live or would you like to watch the recording in your own time as an RCOT member benefit?
This second session in our series on AHP Fit Notes will support managers of OT services (and equip OTs with information that managers need) to enable Fit Notes to be incorporated into NHS clinical practice with confidence.
A formal presentation will be followed by an extended time of practical and in-depth group discussion.
The discussion will focus on problem solving common areas of difficulty.
This session will be led by Occupational Therapists Sarah Holt and Michelle Lennox.
Speaker Information
Sarah Holt has 26 years of experience as an occupational therapist and has spent over 20 years working in vocational rehabilitation, primarily with musculoskeletal patients. Sarah and her service are completing multiple Fit notes everyday. Sarah is one of our England reps.
Michelle Lennox is an occupational therapist currently working on an NHS England Fit Note Project. Michelle completes Fit notes everyday as an essential part of her clinical practice. As a member of SS Work, Michelle is kindly volunteering her time to share her experiences and knowledge.
RCOT Fit Note Training – Learning Outcomes and Opportunities

- Facilitation of Learning: All delegates will have the opportunity to network with and have meaningful conversations with occupational therapists who work in vocational rehabilitation and occupational health settings.
- Leadership: All delegates will be able to access information to benefit OTs in leadership.
- Evidence, Research and Development: All OT delegates and their managers will be reminded of the OT eligibility to complete Fit Notes as per UK Government Guidance.
