Principles of practice-based learning
We’re keen to support our members to deliver quality, practice-based placements for our learners.
In 2022 we joined forces with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) to develop a set of principles for practice-based learning. Find out more about how and why we worked together on this.
We launched the principles on 20 October 2022. To help you integrate the new principles, we delivered a series of six webinars.
Our webinars were facilitated by Kalimah Ibrahiim an Occupational Therapy lecturer, at the University of East London, and Chair of RCOT England Board exploring some of the myths around supporting placements.
We featured practice examples of placement opportunities and approaches that positively impact pre-registration education, career development of practice educators and equity, diversity and belonging across the workforce and the four nations.
Thank you to everyone who attended the webinars, we’ll share the recordings and further resources can be found on our Supporting pre-registration learners page.
If you have any questions about our work in this area, please contact Carolyn Hay, Head of Education.
