The Royal College of Occupational Therapy (RCOT) is looking for two people with an interest in occupational therapy and research to help us make sure the research we fund benefits the people who use occupational therapy services.
We are the professional body for occupational therapists, with over 33,000 members across the UK. Every year, our Research Foundation provides grants of between £10,000 and £100,000 to individuals researching key areas of occupational therapy. Our Research Foundation Advisory Group meets once a year to decide which applications should be awarded grants.
You would join our Research Foundation Advisory Group and help decide which research proposals should receive funding each year. You would need to be able to commit to attending one meeting a year (you can dial in virtually) and doing some reading beforehand. We will support you in the role, compensate you £150 a year for your time, and pay reasonable expenses.
We’d love to hear from you if you have accessed occupational therapy services yourself, or know someone who has, and you have an interest in research. We really want members of the public to be part of this group and we encourage people from diverse backgrounds to apply. By being part of this group you will help ensure that we fund the research that matters to the people who receive occupational therapy services, their families and carers, and the wider community.
